CCR Standards: Reading Anchor Standards 1 & 9, Writing Anchor Standards 1, 4, 6 & 8
Your task: Imagine that you took a field trip to the Hobcaw Barony and visited the salt marsh. Now Mr. Clark has asked you to speak at a PTO meeting and tell them about salt marsh you saw there and the animals that live in it.
Steps you will be following: In order to plan and write your speech:
1) Click on the words Animal Life in the Salt Marshes. As you read, take dash notes, looking for specific evidence to help parents understand about the salt marsh.
2) Look at the picture/diagram of animals in the salt marsh and the food chain on the resources page. Take dash notes about what you see.
3) Organize your information, plan, and write your 'speech' using evidence from your notes.
4) You will want to refer to your notes while writing your speech. You can re-read the article and re-look at the picture/diagram as much as you need to.
